Betaine

The structure of betaine includes three alkyl chains on the amino group of an amino acid. This molecule is positively and negatively charged with the hydrophobic alkyl chains and hydrophilic zwitterions.

Betaine 5 uses the property of betaine to dissolve substrates with poor water solubility in an aqueous solution at a high concentration.
It is expected that even more sensitive detection will be possible using this technique for diagnostics that use immunostaining such as ELISA.
